The ABA Rule of Law Initiative is currently recruiting for a Country Director for its programs in Russia. This position will be based in the ROLI field office in Moscow, Russia and will commence as soon as possible. The Country Director will report directly to the Europe and Eurasia Director based in Washington, D.C.
Primary duties will be to guide the implementation of programs, proposal and program development, management of program budget and finance issues and management of international and national staff. The Russia program promotes rule of law through technical assistance programs covering judicial reform; including judicial training and court administration, legal aid and access to the courts, mediation, continuing legal education, and judicial and legal ethics. ABA ROLI also works on fair trial issues, anti-trafficking, and anti-corruption. ABA ROLI partners with regional and local administrations, legal associations, and NGOs, coordinating assistance with USG donors and other international implementers.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have direct experience on rule of law issues preferably in the Europe and Eurasia region. Applicants must have a J.D. or foreign equivalent and seven to ten years of relevant experience. Russian language fluency is mandatory. Preference will be given to applicants who have Chief of Party experience managing US Government donor-funded international legal reform programs. Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations preferred.
