Description:
  • The Program Intern will support HealthRight’s Russia and Newly Independent States (NIS) programs, through research and writing, as well as general administrative tasks.  Under the Russia and Ukraine Program Associate’s supervision and guidance, the Intern’s responsibilities will include the following:
  • Review and edit grant reports and proposals.
  • Conduct research and compile news items related to the region
  • Prepare reports of current events and security issues to share with other program staff.
  • Draft agendas and take notes at meetings to share with relevant staff.
  • Take documents, such as visa applications, to the appropriate agencies, when necessary.
  • Provide other program and administrative support as requested by the program team.
Qualifications:
  • Must have at least completed sophomore undergraduate year (graduate students welcome – will consider more advanced tasks for graduate students) 
  • Very strong writing skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines reliably            
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Russian language skills

Case Manager

Description:
1)Conduct outreach with hospitals, houses of worship, physicians, disease focused organizations, community-based organizations, and others as identified to enhance value and increase awareness and accessibility of the Caregiver Support Services program.

2)Provide current, appropriate and timely information in response to caregiver inquiries, and provide resource referral options appropriate to caregiver needs.

3)Responsible for all program documentation including caregiver intakes, assessments, and home health care services paperwork. Develop caregiver care plans consistent with caregiver goals. Must also maintain accurate participant files in accordance with NYC DFTA standards.

4)Conduct in-home assessments as needed to determine eligibility for caregiver services

5)Provide one-on-one counseling as indicated by expressed caregiver needs in accordance with NYC DFTA standards.

6)Schedule and provide educational opportunities for caregiver clients.

7)Advocate for clients when necessary.

8)Accurately complete monthly statistics for reporting to lead agency.

9)Make appropriate referrals to Social Adult Day Services program for group respite.

10)Establish case management and appropriate community contacts in participant catchment areas for referral and case coordination. Work with other agency workers and program participants on related social service needs utilizing collateral contacts, I&R, case assistance, case conferences, counseling and advocacy.

11)Develop and lead support groups that accommodate the broad needs of the different populations of caregivers in the community. Expand the meeting time and place of these support groups.

12)Support Social Adult Day program/staff as needed.

13)Attend continuing education seminars as appropriate.  

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
MUST be Bilingual in Russian and English.

IS Manager

FINCA International is looking for an IS (Information Services) Manager, to be based in Samara, Russia. The IS Manager reports to the CEO with a functional report line to the Director of Regional IS for Eurasia. The IS Manager is in charge of leading a function whose key responsibility is to facilitate alignment of FINCA’s technology with its operational vision based on the information systems strategy, by putting in place IS systems which provide business advantage and increase operating efficiency in serving the FINCA’s clientele. The IS Manager works with the Eurasia regional hub in developing business projects and guiding the other IS teams of the Eurasia region in developing solutions for business. The responsibilities of this position are: 
 
- Review the information systems strategy and advise changes in the light of changes in FINCA operations and external environment,
- Planning and co-ordination of all information systems development projects to support the achievement of FINCA business strategy,
- Oversee timely implementation of information systems projects focused on efficient information exchange within FINCA and delivery of customer services,
- Carry out routine reviews of the core banking system to ensure optimum interactions between the system and users,
- Overall review of the effectiveness of the system and in charge of quality assurance,
- Evaluate developments in the banking industry to ensure that the FINCA core banking system provides state-of-the-art business solutions to users,
- Plan and design disaster recovery plans for the FINCA information systems,
- Overall responsible for designing the information security policy covering information system applications and infrastructure,
- Undertake a review of the branch network connectivity to establish the operating level,
- Coach and mentor staff on information systems development at the country level,
- Carry out annual appraisal of performance and make recommendations on staff training.
 

Qualifications:
- University Degree in computer science or equivalent,
- Minimum 3-year experience in a IS position in a reputable financial services organization,
- Knowledge of banking regulatory/compliance framework, information systems policies and practice,
- Experience with the specific operating systems e.g. Windows Server 2003 / Red Hat Linux, applications e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, database applications e.g. MS SQL Server / Sybase / Oracle or programming languages e.g. SQL Language,
- Experience with more than one operating system / multi sites,
- Strong business (as opposed to technical) performance orientation,
- Excellent project management skills,
- Ability to anticipate problems and proactively takes measures to control or minimize them.
- Ability to network and create positive, mutually co-operative relationships with internal customers,
- Innovation and creativity, ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Energy, determination and flexibility, ability to set realistic, aggressive targets, leads by example, empowers staff, actively displays and rewards target behaviors,
- High level of confidentiality required,

Program Officer - Eurasia

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a congressionally funded, private, nonprofit grant making organization that works to support freedom around the world, seeks a Program Officer for its Eurasia section. The position is based in Washington, DC.  The Program Officer will work with the regional director and program staff to develop and manage the NED’s Eurasia grants program, develop the Endowment’s strategy for Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus, set priorities, and monitor and evaluate projects in the region.


Responsibilities:
  • Assess grant proposals to present at quarterly NED Board meetings;
  • Travel to the region on a regular basis to identify and work with potential new grantees;
  • Monitor and provide compliance assistance to existing grantees;
  • Attend relevant internal and external meetings;
  • Track political and third sector developments in the region;
  • Maintain contacts with organizations and individuals working on the region.

Qualifications:
  • A Master’s level education in International Affairs, History, Political Science or related discipline;
  • At least five years of prior experience in democracy related and nonprofit work;
  • In-country experience in Russia, Central Asia or the Caucasus.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Russian; fluency in Russian is required and proficiency in Turkic languages of Central Asia would be an advantage;
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office;
  • High degree of organization and initiative;
  • Experience in financial monitoring and reporting;
  • Knowledge of program evaluation techniques;
  • Excellent staff, office management and interpersonal skills.

The Protection Programme Manager (PPM) for Georgia is a combined managerial and advisory position in support of The Danish Refugee Council's (DRC) protection and advocacy work on resettlement and integration issues at ca local and national level.

The position has two main objectives:

Qualifications:
• University degree, preferably in Human Rights, International Law or related field.
• 5 years practical work experience within the field of rights based approach.
• 5 years of proven capacity to implement complex projects in a challenging environment including all tasks within a full project cycle.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking.
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with local staff and other stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, personable, calm and good sense of humour.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
