Title: Programs Director
Location: South Lake Tahoe, CA
Compensation: $32,500 to $36,000
Description:
The Programs Director will be an integral part of the TBI staff, giving him or her exposure to all aspects of the operations of a small non-profit organization. He or she is responsible for the quality of TBI’s programs and will work to continue the development of program delivery, outreach and program success. The Programs Director will oversee all aspects of TBI’s various programs, including our annual Summer Environmental Exchange, topic-specific trainings and exchanges, community outreach activities, and programs aimed at the alumni of our exchanges.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 1-3 years work experience in a related field, including supervisory and program management experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team
• Proven ability to manage field and office operations of a program with similar complexity
• Excellent professional communication skills
• Strong Russian language skills (both spoken and written);
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher and/or Adobe InDesign
• Experience with environmental education, including lesson planning and curriculum development
• Experience with staff management
• Experience with group facilitation and leadership of student groups
• Experience with public outreach
• Experience managing projects and budgets
• Ability to work with people of different cultural backgrounds
• Knowledge of political and environmental issues in Russia and the U.S.
• Ability to travel to Russia/Mongolia for up to six weeks at a time
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays
• Ability to stay calm and flexible in high stress situations and to exercise sound decision making at all times
• Must present evidence of clean motor vehicle record, proof of auto insurance, a valid California driver’s license and submit to a criminal background check
• Willingness to obtain California Class B drivers license (commercial license with passenger endorsement)
