Title: Intern - Central Eurasia Project

Salary: Unpaid, lunch provided

Description: 
  • Research assistance for the Program Officer in the areas of CEP's work (labor migration; electric power sector transparency and accountability; human, social and economic rights; child labor in the cotton sector/agricultural reform);
  • Assistance to programmatic staff in developing, contracting and editing CEP's policy paper series;
  • Preparation of a literature review on the role of development cooperation and civil society involvement in promoting transparency and accountability;
  • Occasional administrative support to the Program Officer and Program Coordinators;
  • Additional institutional support as necessary.
 Qualifications:  
  • Undergraduate or graduate student in political science, international affairs, policy studies, regional studies (former Soviet Union);
  • Strong understanding of relevant political, social and economic issues of Central Asia and the Southern Caucasus;
  • Proven excellent research and writing skills;
  • Russian language skills preferred but not required;
  • Standard MS office applications proficiency;
  • Availability to work up to 19 hours/week.
Upon acceptance, the intern will need to provide a letter from his/her university indicating that he/she is receiving credit and/or funding for the internship.
