Fellowship 2010: Fulbright

Unfortunately, due to the close proximity to this year’s deadline, I will not make a post for the 2010 – 2011 Fulbright program.  Instead, I encourage you to browse their site via the link below for more information on proposing a program for 2011 – 2012.

Experience of working for a Global US organisation is preferable. High level of people management skills. To communicate Amnesty International’s concerns, positions and key messages to Amnesty International’s membership, civil society organizations and at other forums, including through lobbying at relevant public forums in relation to campaigning priorities; and, in addition, as appropriate, represent Amnesty International in governmental, inter-governmental and various public forums, as well as with the news media and others;
  7. To contribute to the development of programme-wide strategies and plans for research and campaigning and provide input into internal discussions on the Amnesty International mission, policy, organizational and other issues in order to increase the effectiveness of Amnesty International’s work;
  8. To participate in the coordination of the work of the team and contribute to the overall flexibility of resource use, including through setting priorities, preparing work plans, monitoring their progress and maintaining basic budgets;

Russia Program Grants Manager

Pacific Environment’s Russia Program supports grassroots Russian environmental organizations, primarily in Siberia and the Russian Far East. The Grants Manager is primarily responsible for coordinating the Russia Program subgranting process and promoting capacity building among partners. Subgrant management includes reviewing proposals, preparing grant agreements and payments, monitoring reporting and compliance, and maintaining Pacific Environment’s subgrants database. Traditional capacity building involves helping partners develop skills in organizational management, including fundraising, leadership, staff development, budgeting, and strategic planning. The Grants Manager will be a full member of the Russia Team and will be responsible for providing research, writing, translation, and logistical support for Pacific Environment’s Russia Program. The Grants Manager will be based in Pacific Environment's main office in San Francisco, California, and will report to the Russia Program Director.



Responsibilities



  • Coordinating the Russia subgranting process, including reviewing proposals, preparing and issuing grant agreements and payments, monitoring grantee reporting and compliance, maintaining grants database and related systems, ensuring US legal compliance and audit preparedness related to grant-making, and training program staff in grants process and systems;






  • In cooperation with Pacific Environment’s Financial Consultant and Operations Manager, maintaining financial information about subgrant commitments;






  • Working with staff and board to document subgrantee progress on key environmental issues, helping the Program Director prepare outreach materials as needed;






  • Preparing monthly and quarterly reports on subgrant activities for staff and board;
