Description:
The Deputy Director supports the Regional Director in the daily management of the regional program. This includes the following:

Program Management
Financial Management
Personnel
Outreach
Special Events
Strategic Planning/Overall Management 
Country-Specific Project(s)


Qualifications:

1. Graduate degree in political science, international relations or related field and 3-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
2. Working knowledge of politics, economics, history and culture of the region; experience working with political systems.
3. Demonstrated management experience preferred.
4. Strong communications and presentations skills in English.
5. Russian language capability is preferred.
6. Ability to effectively direct or participate in complex negotiations with bilateral and/or multilateral government agencies, other donors or relevant audiences. Ability to work well under pressure.
7. Ability to work as part of a team.
8. Experience identifying complex problems and developing creative solutions.
9. Willingness to travel 15-20% of the time.
