Description:
As Administrative Support Specialist, provides the full range of office support and management services, areas of financial, procurement, property and personnel management issues. Assists in carrying out policies and programs relating to these functions to achieve efficient and effective office mission accomplishment. Ensures smooth flow of office operations during the frequent absences of supervisor and staff.

Assists in the maintenance of office budget, controls financial operations and maintains office accounting records. Serves as personnel liaison representative. Provides advice and assistance to office personnel concerning personnel action requests, timekeeping, pay differential, leave administration, etc., implements DEA security programs. Shares responsibility with office staff for physical security, document security and telecommunication security. Performs procurement and property management functions. Manages the country offices vehicle fleet. Provides advice and assistance to office staff on administrative requisites. 

Qualifications:
Grade 07: Qualifying experience for the GS-7 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to GS-5 which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience could have been gained performing a wide variety of administrative and personnel duties in the areas of financial management, general office management, general services management, procurement and property/vehicle management. Examples are reviewing regulations and policies and applying them to limited and routine administrative work assignments; or assisting in analyzing and recommending solutions to work process problems or issues.

Grade 09: Qualifying experience for the GS-9 level includes one year of specialized experience at least equivalent to the GS-7 level which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience could have been gained performing a wide variety of administrative and personnel duties in the areas of financial management, general office management, general services management, procurement and property/vehicle management. Examples are researching and analyzing established administrative issues; acting as liaison with individuals and groups both inside and outside an organization regarding administrative and/or organizational matters; and preparing a variety of written documents, such as staff papers, status reports, or policy recommendations.
