Description:
The Division of Integrated Biodefense at Georgetown University Medical Center has a position available for a Civil Violence Intern-Coding. This 20 hour/week position involves the research, analysis and coding of incidents related to governance and security in Russia. The Intern needs to possess political, cultural and linguistic knowledge of the region as well as be familiar with Russian electronic media to excel in this position. The Intern is expected to assist the Civil Violence team in testing and designing new methodologies and extending the capacity of the project. 

Qualifications:
  • Fluency in Russian (specifically reading comprehension) is required
  • Economic, political and cultural knowledge of Russia
  • Subject matter expertise in civil conflict, security studies or peace intervention
  • Knowledge and experience working on international policy issues strongly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Should be a current Masters or Doctoral student (any University) and reside in the DC Metro area.
