Description:
The Program Assistant will provide administrative, logistical, and research support for our China, U.S. and Russia programs.  In addition,  the Programs Assistant will work across EWI programs to provide research, logistical, writing, and administrative support as needed. 

Responsibilities:
  •  Provide administrative support including:
    - Manage scheduling and contacts as required
    - Draft, edit correspondences when necessary
    - Maintain filing system and up-to-date files
    - Carry out day-to-day administrative tasks as needed
  • Provide logistical support for EWI programs, conferences and events, including:
    - Compile and disseminate all Program related materials to participants (i.e. commissioned research, meeting backgroun briefs, meeting report and conclusions)
    - Ensure updating of the website
    - Provide support for events: confernces, meetings, roundtables etc., including follow up
    - Responsible for travel and hotel arrangements for event participants as well as other logistical support to the event as requested
    - Maintain database of past, current and future participants and speakers
  • Provide research support
  • Assist in researching funding sources and drafting/editing proposals for potential institutional and individual sources of funding
  • May supervise work of interns
  • Assist in special projects and assignments as required

Qualifications:
  • College degree in international relations or related field and 2 years of administrative and/or program/project support experience or a graduate degree
  • familiar with U.S. foreign policy/national security needed
  • Reliable, very well organized; able to handle multiple tasks with ease
  • Communicative and very good team player; fluency in English both written and spoken required
  • Positive, active, open-minded, international focus and thrives in a diverse environment
  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Internet research, Outlook and Power Point are a must
  • fluency in Chinese or Russian highly desirable
