Description:

The Program Associate is the entry level position to program work at IFES. As a junior member of the team the Program Associate will provide administrative and programmatic support for current and developing programs worldwide.

Under the supervision of the Program Officer:
• Reviews and submits field expense reports to Program Officer or supervisor for approval.
• Generates financial tracking and budget reports.
• Supports recruitment and mobilization of consultants for field assignments.
• Maintains project records and documents, including consultant contracts.
• Conducts basic research and provides general support in proposal development process.
• Prepares and assembles briefing materials as directed.
• Plans and expedites airline, hotel, and visa arrangements.
• Photocopies, faxes, mails, files, scans documents, etc.
• Maintains calendar of events and coordinates efforts with Events Planning Team.
• Provides targeted assistance on special projects and assignments.
• May travel, on limited basis, to field in support of project activities.
• Attends meetings at request of supervisor to gather and share information with colleagues.

 

Qualifications:

BS/BA with 1 to 3 years experience in international development or related field.
• Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required.
• Familiarity with USAID regulations helpful.
• Internship(s) experience with International NGO a plus.
• Introductory experience in proposal development support a plus.
• Foreign language skills may be useful for specific positions.
