Description:
The incumbent serves as one of four analysts in the Russia Division,
Office of Analysis for Russia and Eurasia. Under the general
supervision of the Division Chief, the incumbent is the lead analyst
for political developments in Russia relating to political parties, the
legislature, regional issues, civil society, and social issues, serving
as backup analyst on other issues related to Russian domestic political
developments. The incumbent is responsible for all-source analysis and
research; support to Department of State policymakers; and liaison with
counterparts in the Intelligence Community.
Qualifications:
Have a bachelor's or graduate degree from an accredited college or
university in international law, international relations, political
science, economics, history, sociology, geography, social or cultural
anthropology, law, statistics, or in the humanities;
GS-12
IN ADDITION to the basic requirements, this
position requires one year of specialized experience equivalent to at
least the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the
applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to
perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience
must demonstrate the following:
- Experience producing
assessments on political developments in Russia regarding political
parties, the legislature, regional issues, civil society, and social
issues based on analysis and evaluation of information derived from a
variety of sources.
GS-13
IN ADDITION to the basic
requirements, this position requires one year of specialized experience
equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service which
provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and
abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying
specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience producing assessments on political developments in Russia
regarding political parties, the legislature, regional issues, civil
society, and social issues based on analysis and evaluation of
information derived from a variety of sources
- Experience
providing advice, guidance, and consultation to senior officials with
regard to the interpretation and application of analyses concerning
political developments in Russia regarding political parties, the
legislature, regional issues, civil society, and social issues.
