Save the Children US, the leading independent organization creating real and lasting change for children in need in the U.S. and around the world seeks an Education Manager to design, implement and manage interventions to ensure that children affected by an emergency have access to quality basic education. Lead coordination of programmatic activities with key operational and policy actors and mechanisms, such as the Ministry of Education, UN agencies and the IASC Cluster process. The Emergency Education Manager is responsible for ensuring that quality education programs are initiated and capacities developed to provide education to children in Save the Children’s emergency responses world-wide. The Emergency Education Manager should ensure that all aspects of work are undertaken in accordance with Save the Children’s Policy, while also ensuring that the INEE Minimum Standards for Education in Emergencies are promoted and underpin all preparedness and response processes and interventions.

Qualifications:
Requires degree in Education or a relevant subject area – or ability to demonstrate equivalent applied experience; Demonstrated experience of designing, managing, monitoring and evaluating education programs in emergencies for international NGOs; Demonstrated commitment to technical excellence in education and a focus on learning outcomes as a key metric of program success; Experience of applying relevant interagency humanitarian frameworks and standards in education in emergencies (for example INEE Minimum Standards); Proven experience of clear proposal and report writing and documentation; Substantial people and program management experience, including the proven ability to be part of and organize, support, manage and develop a small team.  Experience of working with partners and key stakeholders including children, parents, teachers, local and national authorities; experience of participatory approaches.  Excellent security awareness with experience of living and working in uncertain security environment and proven (successful) completion of, or willingness to complete an approved security training course.
