Description:
The Program Assistant will assist in coordinating the transportation and logistics operations of private and U.S. government funded humanitarian assistance programs. The Program Assistant will report to Director, Humanitarian Assistance.

Responsibilities:
·         Assist in administering the day-to-day aspects of transportation and other support activities, including the preparation of transportation requests, processing of inventories, scheduling of loads, reviewing of bills of lading packages, processing of invoices, tracking of shipments, and provision of shipment information to all involved parties
·         Liaise with partner organizations, transportation companies, commodity donors, field offices, screeners, vendors, and other involved parties
·         Provide general programmatic and administrative support to the Transportation Management Services unit team (including filing, faxing, copying, etc.)
·         Research, track, brief, and report necessary statistics, information, and data
·         Maintain all relevant shipment data. Ensure that accurate and up-to-date records, data, and information are kept in physical files, Counterpart shared drives, and CHAP database
·         Assist in drafting programmatic reports
·         Other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications:
·         Graduate degree preferred (in International Development, Public Management, or other relevant field)
·         Strong communications and interpersonal skills
·         Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
·         Must be able to work with little supervision, yet collaborate easily for a team effort
·         Proficiency in computer programs
·         Fluency in Russian language is a plus
