Description:
The incumbent serves as an International Broadcaster (Online) in the Russian Service of the Voice of America, with responsibility for writing, blogging and editing content for the Service's web, social media, and mobile phone-based news and information outlets. The incumbent must have demonstrated experience in web-based journalism, in particular with specific understanding of blogging and Russian blogs dealing with US-Russian relations, social networking and community based websites

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements For the Position: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience directly related to this line of work and MUST be bilingual in Russian and English with the ability to fluently report, research and accurately translate in both languages.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One year of specialized experience is defined as: writing or editing news stories/news stories/ news analyses and/or feature stories in English and Russian for a recognized news publication such as a daily newspaper or a weekly news magazine; or for a wire service such as AP, UPI, or Reuters; or for broadcast by a radio or television station OR a reliable news website either domestic or foreign. Such experience must clearly demonstrate the knowledge, skill or ability to (1) understand and write domestic about domestic and international affairs, (2) write for audiences of varying backgrounds and interests, (3) write under deadline pressure, (4) exercise sound and independent judgment, and (5) skill to write broadcast quality news.
