The Operations Manager is responsible for providing supervision, coordination and administrative support for Mercy Corps’ operations in Tajikistan. The Operations Manager has primary responsibility for effective management and implementation of all non-finance support functions, including human resources, fleet management, administration, security, procurement and inventory control. With adherence to the policies and procedures of Mercy Corps and our donors, the Operations Manager will regularly evaluate and strengthen systems and develop national staff capacity in four offices to implement effective administrative systems.
Qualifications:
- Three years relevant experience managing and supporting international development operations and programs required; preference given to candidates with prior experience procuring goods under USG and/or EC regulations and familiarity with Mercy Corps operations policies and systems.
- BA/S or equivalent in international development, public administration, or relevant field.
- Demonstrated skill in written and oral communication, report writing, financial management, team management, training and problem solving.
- History of working effectively with host country government, INGO and NGO partners, and demonstrated success with capacity building initiatives.
- Experience in the former Soviet Union and knowledge of Central Asia is preferred.
- Fluency in written and spoken English required; fluency in Russian, Tajik and/or Uzbek preferred.
